Report on the timetable for consideration of the Higher Education
(Wales) Bill
1. On 19 May 2014, a Government Bill, ‘Higher Education (Wales) Bill’, was introduced in the Assembly.
2. On 29 April 2014, the Business Committee agreed, in accordance with Standing Order 26.9, to refer the Bill to the Children, Young People and Education Committee, to consider and report on the general principles.
3. On 13 May 2014, the Business Committee agreed, in accordance with Standing Order 26.7, a timetable for the Committee’s consideration of the general principles of the Bill and has agreed that the Committee should report to the Assembly by 3 October 2014.

The
Business Committee also agreed that Stage 2 proceedings should be
completed by 28 November 2014, subject to the general principles of
the Bill being agreed by the Assembly.
